Sarah from Spruce Hill Farm

I intended to post this yesterday but Blogger was not cooperating!
I thought the purple looked like an angel...
Another Mother with Cancer has passed. It just makes me so sad. Most of us on the Mothers with Cancer site have not met in person. So far I have only met Stella, but that does not mean that we have not become friends. We all share common bonds of being Mothers and having cancer. Many of us share other bonds of writing, photography, cooking, politics, American Idol, Blogging, Tweeting etc.

Sarah Stump Streett. I loved Sarah’s photographs. She captured so much in each photo. Many times I would ask her what camera she used. Finally realizing it was not so much the camera as the photographer. I loved how she loved her life on Spruce Hill. Sharing her life with us. I loved to read about her excitement when one of her recipes was chosen for the Tasty Kitchen Blog by Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman. I read with excitement when she finally met Ree in person at a book signing. I was so excited to learn that they became friends. I was happy when I read that Sarah and her family were invited to the Ranch for a visit. You could tell how excited Sarah was to go on that visit with her whole family. A little respite from cancer on your mind every single minute. A time to create some special memories with her family. It made me smile to think and read and about Sarah on the Ranch.

Shortly after that visit, Sarah found received the news that her cancer had metastasized to her brain. She added radiation treatments to her regimen. I did not see Sarah’s Tweet earlier in the week that she had entered the hospital with breathing problems. Last night I noticed that her family was asking for even more prayers. Then I noticed that her family members were posting on her twitter site. I reached out to the other “Mothers” to see if anyone knew any details.

Stella posted asking for information and a friend responded back that she was in the hospital and not doing well.

Later that night:

“Friends: Sarah passed away quietly tonight after a long, hard battle. We appreciate the outpouring of kind words, support and prayers. Thank you,

Sarah’s Family”

Ree wrote a lovely tribute to Sarah yesterday as well as Susan and Laurie and Jenny and I am sure there will be many more to follow....
