But sometimes it is the little things that can help us out when the big things are a little scary. My little thing for today is a magnet board near my desk. Now I should say I have always had a problem with tack or magnetic boards. As an interior designer they are my nemesis. You can spend a ton… I repeat A TON of time designing an office space. Then move in day would come and all the trinkets and mementos would go up faster than the first box of hanging folders was unpacked. But I do realize that people need to personalize their cubicle… their little home away from home. I also realize… especially as I get older that sometimes we really do need something out … right in front of us… to remind us… TO DO IT!
So I decided I would put up a magnetic board for my little reminders… the things that I do not want to forget to accomplish. We had a white magnetic IKEA board from my daughter’s old room. I bought some metallic paint and sprayed the board. My Hubby hung it for me this weekend.
Now Magnets…. Hum…. I looked through one of my drawers and I found these…
Mary Englebreit thumbtacks… another favorite designer of mine! Our kitchen in our home in NY was all Mary Englebreit Cherries… The home was 100 years old and quaint…well it was after we completely renovated it… anyway the kitchen had black and red linoleum floors and red counters.... so the cherries went perfect. I had saved these little babies because “ME” designs just make me feel good all over! I broke off the tacks....
and used magnetic tape and voila... magnets!!
Now I can put important items right out where I can see them everyday and the best part....
I reduced... reused and recycled!!!!
