21 months ago today I was told "you have breast cancer". I am so thankful that I am on the other side now. My life will never be the same as it was before cancer. That is not all bad. Some things in my life have changed for the better, of course hot flashes and weight gain are not some of them but I am alive, my hair is growing and I know when I need to slow down and take care of myself. I feel bad that whenever I am the slightest bit sick my kids get very nervous - post tramatic stress. Kids really should not have to worry about that at such a young age.
The new problem is follow-up scans. One insurance company approved and one denied. Even when my doctors appealed it was still denied. Now for an Independent Medical review through the Department of Insurance.
But,it was a good Monday and I am happy that I have made it to 21 months. Today was the initial luncheon for the heARTS for Healing Guild to benefit Art & Creativity for Healing. I am the secretary of the Guild and will be blogging about our Guild as time goes on. We had 21 compassionate, energetic and creative women sign up and we are so pleased. We are off to a wonderful start.

Ok - I did it!!
It's a new year and this is the first step toward my new life. So here it goes. I read Kelly Rae Roberts article in the September issue of Cloth Paper Scissors and sent in my response to her inspirational article. I was reading the new issue that arrived the other day and my response was published!! As I read further into the magazine her new article was about blogging. So here I am, granted I have a lot of work ahead of me to get it looking good. I usually like to have everything planned out to the last detail before proceeding but I am trying to change. So I am jumping in to the blogging world without any details planned out.... I guess that was not so hard.
